Aloha,

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.  I moved to Kauai in 2007 and studied to become a helicopter pilot flight instructor (CFII). After completing my training I was hired as a flight instructor and loved teaching. Due to a motor vehicle accident I was unable to continue flying.

Kauai is such a healing and nurturing place. It is here that I was able to reconnect with my Feldenkrais training and previous profession as a massage therapist. I now work with people who experience chronic and acute pain due to soft tissue injuries. My approach to working with clients and students is on the gentle side of the spectrum. I feel this has served me well in my recovery and I hope it will benefit you too.

Most people have never heard of Feldenkrais and I am sure the word itself sounds somewhat weird. Felden....what?!  With that being said I love the method. It is an opportunity to shift your inner attention to self-awareness and examine your patterns. It is an investment of time, intention, and a willingness to learn. I like to think of it as gymnastics for the brain and body. The result I have experienced with the work is easier movement patterns and less pain. I feel this method has given me a second chance in life.

Life is short so I make the best of my time. I enjoy teaching my students about the somatic nervous system and helping those needing a little relaxation with massage. Feldenkrais and massage are very different. Massage is soothing and wonderful for circulation and stress reduction. My background in Feldenkrais has helped me with massage practice.

Feldenkrais is more in depth and the education is a much lengthier endeavor. My training to become a Feldenkrais Practitioner took place in Berkeley, California. Over the course of four years I have learned how understand gait patterns, posture, movement and dysfunction. I am proud to be a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner® to continue the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais.

Mahalo for taking the time to get to know a little about me. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email or call me.

Regards,
